Mount Katahdin Sunrise from Compass Pond
This is a dramatic view of Mount Katahdin during the autumn season seen from the shore of Compass Pond next to the Golden Road in Northern Maine. This is not a state road but rather an old logging road that was owned by the paper companies. The Golden Road will take you to Abol Bridge and the West Branch of the Penobscot River. The opposite or easterly direction will take you back to Millinocket.
