Little & Big Lake Wassookeag at Sunrise, Sunset & Twilight

Greg A. Hartford, photographer, author, publisherLake Wassookeag was much smaller before the stream was dammed up near Abbott Mill. When I was a young boy, it was common to find Native American arrowhead on the shoreline of Big Lake Wassookeag. The lake always was important to the community. Now it is even more than ever. With all of the industries that have folded or left, tourism and anyone else seeking the quality of nature and life that is found here sees the lake as a central part of this experience. For generations it has flowed through our senses and will remain.
