Calm Water of Big Lake Wassookeag at Sunset
This section of Big Lake Wassookeag has a lot of rocks, small, mid-sized, and larger on its shore. As a young boy, I found many Native American arrowheads here. How exceptional it must have been hundreds of years ago. In those times, the lake was much lower. What made it higher or deeper was that early inhabitants damned the stream close to the settlement which flooded much of the lowlands, creating what is now called Little Lake Wassookeag.
