Main Street after midnight and a light rain in Dexter, Maine

Dexter, Maine After Midnight

A light rain on Dexter's Main Street made it nicely reflective and colorful as seen in this image taken after midnight early in the morning of October 8, 2019. New siding had been added to the building on the right this year just in time for a local festival. The street and sidewalks were completely redone. There were even new much brighter light bulbs installed. This seems to resonate with memories of days past and numerous lives lived. How many footsteps have there been here, even before the first building foundations were laid?

For those interested in how this photograph was done, here are some of the details: Because of the wide contrast range between light and shadow, five images at different shutter speeds were taken and used. Image specs: Date of October 8 shortly after 1:00 AM using Canon EOS 5D Mark IV Full Frame Camera and Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 lens at 30mm, f/18, ISO 160. Exposures were 30, 10, 3.2, 1, 0.3 seconds.
